WATERBIRD COUNT 2025 SUMMARY

Sunset Point, Presque Isle State Park

This year marks the 39th season of waterbird counting at Sunset Point, documenting bird movements along the south shore of Lake Erie. Time in the field this year was 169.5 hours down from 217 hours last year mainly because of storm activity or little bird movement. 552 birds per hour were recorded this year, down about 12% birds per hour from last year.
