Festival of the Birds 2026 Scholarship:

This will cover the costs of attending the entire weekend Festival for a student and chaperone to attend our 2026 Festival of the Birds in Erie, May 15, 16, and 17. In return, we will require the recipient to write a brief article about their experience for our organization’s newsletter, the Tern of Events. Any student who lives in Erie or Crawford Counties is eligible to apply.

This scholarship is meant for any student in third grades through college level who enjoys birds and the outdoors and wants to learn more about both.

The winner will discover the joys of spring migration at Presque Isle State Park, which Bird Watching Magazine rates as one of the top birding spots in the country. The 2026 festival features field trips to PI hotspots, workshops, plus food along the way.

Open to students in 3rd grade through college level. Application Deadline is March 1, 2026. The application is below (unlimited answer space!!). The Executive Board of Presque Isle Audubon will review the applications and announce the winning recipient on March 20, 2026.​
