Bank Swallows at Presque Isle State Park

Join us on Friday, August 21 for a program about the Bank Swallows at Presque Isle State Park; with Holley Short, Executive Director of the Erie Bird Observatory since 2025.

Holley noticed in previous data that Bank Swallows were being disturbed by human presence regardless of signage. In 2026, she put together a small, barebones stewardship program to determine whether education could help improve nesting success at two large colonies. Join Holley as she talks all about Bank Swallows and the positive effects of stewardship at busy beaches on Presque Isle State Park.

This program will be held virtually, via Zoom and at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center in Erie. The program starts at 7 PM but TREC doors open at 6:30 PM, for refreshments and socializing. Please register for this event so you can be notified of any unforeseen change in plans. Hope to see you there!
