ScholarshipHog Island Audubon Camp: An Educator’s Week
August 9 – August 14, 2026
Presque Isle Audubon is happy to announce FOUR all-expenses paid scholarships for educators in Erie and Crawford counties, to attend Sharing Nature: An Educator’s Week. This camp is held at National Audubon's Hog Island off the coast of southern Maine, from August 9 to August 14. PIA has been sending educators to this camp since 2022, and all attendees returned home full of ideas to use in their classrooms, and expressing profuse gratitude for having the chance to attend!
From the Hog Island website: “This is not your average professional development program! During this action-packed week you will learn approaches, methods, and activities for engaging both children and adults with nature. This will be a communal learning experience that is guaranteed to fill up your cup as you head into the new school year."
Presque Isle Audubon requires the scholarship recipients to write a brief article about their experience for our organization’s newsletter, the Tern of Events, as well as do a presentation about their week at Hog Island to our members. Application Deadline is March 1, 2026. The Executive Board of Presque Isle Audubon will review the applications and announce the winning recipients on March 10, 2026.
