New bird species that appeared this week included:
Little Gull, Great Egret, American Bittern, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Brown Creeper, Cliff Swallow, both Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal, Eastern Meadowlark, Hermit Thrush, House Wren, and the first wave of warblers~~Black-throated Green, Nashville, Palm, and Pine.
Wild Flowers Blooming now are:
In wilder places in Erie and Crawford counties dozens of other flowers bloomed, including Harbinger of Spring, Hairy Bittercress, Persian Speedwell, Bloodroot, Yellow Dog-tooth Violet, Red Trillium, Blue Cohosh, Spring Cress, Golden Saxifrage, Plantain-leaved sedge, Squirrel Corn, Dutchman’s Breeches, and Cut-leaf Toothwort.
