The following birds of note were reported in March from Erie County, Pa.
White-winged Scoter up to 5; channel and just east of Dobbins landing Iceland Gull 1 adult; March 7; foot of East Ave. An unusually high number of Great Black-backed Gulls have been present at the east end of Presque Isle Bay for the past couple of weeks, with as many as 800 estimated just a few days ago. Most days 300 to 400 can be seen off Port Access Road or at the foot of East Avenue sitting on the ice. This is the first time I have seen black-backed gulls out number both Ring-billed and Herring Gulls. Snowy Owl 1; to at least March 3; just south of Union City along Holden Rd.
